Eligibility & Application process

The board of the state in which you wish to work will determine whether you are eligible to apply for this exam and practice there as a nurse. Once you are deemed eligible by the state board they will notify you and give you the option of applying by issuing you an Authorization to take the Test along with information on how to register. Only three attempts can be made to pass the test, after which you are ineligible.  Retake of failed test can happen after 45-90 days. Each state board has its own minimum day limit to retake the test.

To register you have to apply to the state board of the state in which you wish to practice for a license to practice. They will first decide whether you are eligible to work there and then send you a registration bulletin. You can fill the form in that bulletin or register by phone.

NCLEX in India can be taken at following cities Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai.
